condon Judith Condon, Interim principal

Our Angel Oak Elementary School Improvement Council is focused on literacy and is hoping to increase library reading selections for our students.

We need your help! We have developed a "Book Wish List" based on the wants and needs of our students and we are hoping our families and community members will be willing to "sponsor a book".

You can use the link to the spreadsheet below to sign up for a book you would like to "sponsor". Then, please send a check for the amount of the book made out to Angel Oak Elementary School with "Book Wish List" in the description. Our librarian will then order the books through our vendor (who catalogs them for us saving us A LOT of time) and she will add a donor's label to the inside of the book that celebrates your donation. You will then receive a special "thank you" for supporting our students in the mail (based on the address listed on your check). You can sponsor one book or many!

The school will need all checks submitted by April 20, 2018 so we can order the books and get them delivered and labeled by the end of the school year. You can even come and visit your book anytime next school year:)

Condon  Hello Angel Oak families and District 9 Community members!

My name is Judith Condon and I am proud to serve as Interim Principal of Angel Oak Elementary during the 2017-18 school year.

My family and I will be moving from the Atlanta area and will be settling into the John’s Island community during the month of July.  I have spent the last 16 years serving as a teacher and district level supervisor for the Cobb County School District. I was fortunate to have worked with 112+ schools in areas including school transformation, learning design (arts integration, STE(A)M, STEM), fine arts programming and school branding/marketing. I have a B.F.A. in Art Education, a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Specialist’s degree in Educational Leadership. My husband is also an educator and has served multiple schools as a teaching assistant. My son, Brody, is eight and my daughter, Sydney, is sixteen. Both of my children are active in sports, the arts, church and volunteering in the community.  We look forward to being part of such a culturally rich and diverse community on John’s Island!

I am here to serve the children and parents of Angel Oak Elementary and District 9. WE will establish a team focus through building strong relationships and personalizing learning to lead all students to success. WE will engage in healthy risk-taking and innovative practice. WE will help lead Angel Oak and District 9 in becoming an exemplar of effective teaching and learning. Our children deserve it!

I will be working to connect, communicate and collaborate with you as part of my entry plan over the next few months. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments or concerns. My ears and my door are always open to you!

My family and I look forward to meeting all of you soon!

Judith Condon
