Welcome to Angel Oak Primary!

We are excited to have your family join us at Angel Oak Primary School. Our new school structure as a primary school enables us to focus on serving our youngest students on Johns Island. 

I am thrilled to be serving as the principal of Angel Oak Primary School in our first year together in the 2025-26 school year.  I have been in education for over 20 years, serving in a variety of roles in different states and countries, including spending the past 5 years as the principal of nearby Mt. Zion Elementary. I earned my Bachelor of Arts from Duke University and my Master’s of Education in School Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I am originally from Lake City, SC and currently live in West Ashley with my husband and two children. 

At Angel Oak Primary, we are committed to ensuring that all of our students have a joyful first school experience and that we build a strong foundation for future school success. Our school is fortunate to have amazing teachers, strong community involvement, and fabulous partnerships in support of our Arts Integration focus. We welcome family and community engagement, and we hope you can get involved through our Parent-Teacher-Association, School Improvement Council, or by mentoring or volunteering.

Welcome to the 2026 - 2027 School Year!

I am so excited to serve as your Assistant Principal this year! This is my 13th year in education and my second year at Angel Oak Primary.  Previously I was the Assistant Principal at Mt. Zion Elementary. I have taught 3rd and 4th grade in Richland School District 2, Lexington School District 1, and Charleston County School District. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Masters in Educational Administration at The University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!). When I am not at school, I love to run, go to the beach, spend time with my family (Graham - Almost 2 years old and Stella the Whoodle - 9 years old), and travel anywhere and everywhere! I consider it the greatest honor that we get to be your child’s first school experience. It is my goal to make Angel Oak Primary a place where your child loves to learn and has fun while doing so!
